New Pinging Service Pingoat - Double The Pings Of Ping-O-Matic
Ping-o-Matic seems to be down today so I’ve just used a new service Pingoat which pings 46 sites - twice as many as Ping-o-Matic. Worked very smoothly although it doesn’t ping Icerocket so if you do use this service don’t forgot to ping IceRocket as well.

My traffic jumped 25% yesterday which I think will be a permanent increase. Some of the increase is definitely because I’ve improved my Technorati optimisation which seems to have helped other search engines as well, but the majority of the increase is because I’ve started submitting my articles to Digg.
Although none of my articles [...]
Trying To Improve My Listings
I’ve just realised that search engines like Google and Technorati tend to crawl my homepage so I’ve added more posts to see if it improves my listings.
Let me know if you think this is a bad idea or if my pages are loading too slow for ya and I’ll go back to a smaller number [...]
The Dark Side of Technorati Tags
Om Malik has made a great post about the one-sided nature of Technorati tags i.e. millions of blogs send traffic to Technorati but get very little traffic back in return.I’ve been adding tags to my posts for the last week or so and to be honest they’ve made next to no difference to my traffic [...]

David Sifry of Technorati has produced his latest “State of the Blogosphere” report. The last one was produced 6 months ago and since then Technorati has doubled the number of blogs that they track. His summary findings are:
Technorati was tracking over 14.2 Million weblogs, and over 1.3 billion links in July 2005
The blogosphere [...]
Technorati Launch Mobile Service
Technorati have launched a mobile service which is very clean and light and looks good on handsets. However, I can’t imagine ever using the service as it seems to link through to full web pages that will take ages to load on most phones and will look absolutely awful.
It would have been much more [...]
Posting With Qumana
I tried being clever using the blogware categories to create tags which was too hard, so I’m taking Tris’s advice and trying out Qumana as it seems to offer the best way to add Technorati tags to my posts. So far it seems to be going well.So far I’ve noticed the following positives:
Formatting text [...]
25Jul2005 | Everton | 1 comment | ContinuedTechnorati And Blogware
How does Blogware integrate with Technorati? Does every word in the article get tagged or do only the words I put as keywords get tagged?
I’m trying to work out why my articles aren’t getting picked up in Technorati. Can anyone help? I’m just trying to work it out before I waste time [...]
IceRocket Link Tracker
I hope Trish doesn’t mind, but I copied some Javascript from his site that has added a cool IceRocket link tracker to my site that he has been testing.
I think this looks a lot nicer than the Cosmos/Technorati link as it has a counter so you can see how many links there are without having [...]
PubSub Sending More Traffic Than Technorati
I just checked my stats and already PubSub is sending more traffic to my blog than Technorati. My biggest referrers are:
Google
Trackbacks I’ve added to other blog articles
PubSub
Technorati
Other drivers of traffic to my blog are Ask Jeeves, Lycos and Yahoo! I don’t get a lot of unsolicited links from other blogs, (other than Aqute!), [...]
