How To Get On The Reddit Homepage
I discovered today why Maki hasn’t added to his debut post on Connected Internet. Maki’s been ‘moonlighting’ over at Search Engine Journal and 10e20.
One of his posts on 10e20 caught my eye which provides an in-depth review of Reddit.com, which includes some good tips on how to get onto the Reddit homepage.
Which Social Networks Are You Active In?
Out of all the social networks like myspace, bebo, hi5 etc the only one I’m reasonably active in is LinkedIn, where I’ve just this second made my 400th connection taking my network up to 1.73m people.
I think I’ve made so many LinkedIn connections because I tend to keep my work address book up to date [...]

I’ve just read about Spotplex a new news aggregator that TechCrunch seem to think has the potential to be better than Digg, as it can’t be abused by users.
Spotplex decides which stories to put on its homepage based on which stories are read the most. It tracks reads by getting sites to add [...]
Finally Proof That The Digg Bury Brigade (aka Digg Mafia) Does Exist
For a long time there has been indirect evidence that there is a group of Digg users who deliberately bury posts from sites that they don’t like or doesn’t match their ideology, and particularly posts from blogs. Well, finally there is proof thanks to Pronet advertising, who used Digg’s own Diggspy tool to track [...]

Yesterday evening a small war developed between the Digg Mafia who were determined to bury Ajay’s post ‘Why The Dig Mafia Will Cost Kevin Rose Milions‘, which had been submitted to Digg by Brajeshwar one of Digg’s top posters. Despite being submitted by Brajeshwar, the same Digg Mafia that Ajay discussed in his post [...]

I’ve just received two trackbacks from a Techtities post entitled ‘Why The Digg Mafia Will Cost Kevin Rose Millions‘, (Update: it’s now been submitted to Digg - lets see what happens if it hits the homepage…) on Digg which suggests that not only are the actions of the ‘Digg mafia’ driving away potential digg users, [...]

the Wall Street Journal did an in-depth study of the new breed of influencers on the web. One of the sites they profiled was Digg, and they found that one third of Digg’s Homepage Stories Were Submitted By 30 Users. I bet that if that if the Wall Street Journal published the rest [...]
