How To Reduce WordPress Trackback Spam
This year I’ve made various changes to my blog to reduce comment spam (read more here and here) but finding an effective way to reduce Trackback Spam had eluded me. Adding SK2 meant that it was rare for any spam to get through, but I was still getting around one hundred Trackback Spams a [...]

Today’s tip is a good one for all WordPress users who want to stop spam bots leaving spam on their blogs. OneTipADay has come up with a way of quickly adding fake comment forms in front of the real comment form that are only visible to spam bots. Because these spam bots usually [...]

I”ve just uploaded Angsuman’s Beta Comment Guard Plugin that offers to block spam comments without creating any fuss, and more importantly without creating any load on a server’s CPU or bandwidth like SK2, or without relying on querying external databases like Akismet.

MyBlogLog Spam
Ever since MyBlogLog got purchased by Yahoo which I guess put them on the radar of spammers, I’ve been getting 3-4 messages a day saying ‘check out this site!’ etc. Is anybody else having this problem? A very simple solution would be a setting to only allow messages from friends and contacts.

WordPress Optimisation: Block WordPress Referral Spam
Matt from Digital9 has been helping to fix my poor site that despite many people trying to help is still struggling along. He’s currently working wonders with the mysql process. I’ve asked him to keep a list of the changes he’s making so that I can share them with other WordPress users.
So far [...]
New Site Features
Having a stable server for the last few days has allowed me to finish the site design work I wanted to do over Christmas. I’m quite happy with the results and I think the template is subtly cleaner and more efficient, and the navigation links have been improved considerably, and I’ve already seen the [...]
