Help Please With Trackback Spam On WordPress Blog
I’m wasting about an hour a day deleting Trackback Spam which is really annoying. What’s the best way of stopping it? I’ve tried installing the Trackback validator, which has helped a bit but hasn’t stopped all the spam.
Also, how do I get the latest trackbacks to display on the Dashboard? At the moment I’m having [...]

I just read a story on John Chow Dot Com which has just been banned by Digg, just like my site. At least in John’s case, Digg had the decency to respond to his email query:
When submitted stories are consistently reported as spam and users complain via our feedback email about submission spam, we [...]
One In Twelve PCs In The UK Are Part Of Bot Nets
After spending a whole day in a security workshop, I’ve been on the look out for security related stories and I’ve just seen one that scared the life out of me. Despite the huge amount of education we in the ISP community have provided over the last couple of years, one in twelve computers [...]

I feel really bad about this as I used to hate other blogs that didn’t allow trackbacks, but I’m getting tired of deleting a couple hundred trackback spams a day so I’m afraid I’ve just turned off trackbacks.
I might turn them back on to see if blogware have improved their filters.
Blogware Launch Captcha - Many More New Services To Come
Blogware launched Captcha this week to help tackle spam, which will require all posters to enter a few random characters that are displayed before their comment can be submitted. At the moment this is required by all users, even if they are logged in.
