It looks like Skype’s video trial is going well. Apparently the video quality is looking very good with good frame rates - in testing callers were even able to read 11pt text at the other location.
The service is now also called Wigiwigi…not sure where that one came from!

Skype Video Conferencing - Are they using a proprietary codec?
I just read a post on Skypejournal where they were testing Skype’s video conferencing service beta. The quality experienced at times was better than SightSpeed, which is impressive has SightSpeed have some impressive codecs.
Does anyone know what codecs Skype are using? Are they proprietary?
