Microsoft Windows Comes Of Age - Happy 21st Birthday!
Believe it or not Windows is 21 years old on Monday. When it was launched in 1985 the PC market was barely out of it’s infancy, and whatever you may think of Microsoft it is amazing what they Bill Gates & Co have built in such a relatively short time.
Windows has been through many [...]
Getting Vista, Zune Or Another MP3 Player? How To Migrate From iTunes
I’ve been using an iPod for nearly 4 years, and iTunes every since it became available for Windows about 3 years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I like my iPod/iTunes combination but over the last year or so because of changes in the way I listen to music, this partnership has created a lot of [...]

I’ve recently left ntl:Telewest and sometime soon I’m going to lose my free Digital TV service, so I had a quick look at the latest offers from ntl:Telewest and Sky to see who was offering the best deal.

Installing Vista RC2 As My Main OS Was Definitely A Bad Idea
My decision to install Windows Vista RC2 as my main OS last week was a very bad idea. Yes, I know I should have known better but I thought it was time to force myself to give Vista a real tryout.

Tom’s Hardware have published a review of Windows Vista after 500 hours worth of testing. I’ve just read through the review and although Windows Vista ‘looks nice’ I’m still struggling to find any killer features that I actually need that will make me upgrade. I think the summary hits the spot for me:
“It [...]
Do You Really Need To Upgrade To Vista At A Cost Of $450?
I’m not sure if I feel sorry for Microsoft. According to reports online piracy accounts for 25% of software sales globally, and Microsoft must be one of the biggest losers. Microsoft tries to combat this through the use of its Windows Genuine Advantage Tool, which verifies if the software you are using is [...]

I think it looks quite cool. If you don’t like it then it can be easily uninstalled.

Sometimes when you realise how many products Microsoft deliver you can understand why there is always a bug or two. Here’s a summary of some of the products we can expect over the next 12 months.
Longhorn: Microsoft has decided on an official name for Longhorn: Windows Vista. I think this is much nicer than [...]
